Why is Tally still the most used accounting software in India?
Hi Preetham, Why is Tally still the most used accounting software in India? I could answer this question in one word and that is **"SIMPLE"**. Tally has made accounting easy and affordable for everyone. Tally can be used by a Shopkeeper and an MNC at the same time. A Shopkeeper can go ahead and buy the most basic version, and go on to manage everything in his shop easily without any assistance from an Accountant or Finance expert. On the other hand, an MNC can buy the advanced version, for maintaining accounts of their different offices/sites, hire experts to develop complex reports and charts on them, and they will be satisfied that the product is serving them well. Learning Tally is as easy as learning typing or browsing on computer. With very basic knowledge of accounts (credit and debit), one can start to manage their financial activities almost immediately. some features of tally 1. it is easy to use 2. it is less costly 3. easy to get it 4. only basic accounting knowledge required 5. a common person can also use it
Tally is still the most used accounting Software in India. This is so because Tally is very old one. Like still now manual traditional red KHATA BAHIs are also still maintained because they consider it traditional in the same way in computerized accounting Tally is considered to be traditional accounting software and therefore considered to be most used accounting software in India. I agree that many more accounting softwares have come in market and are trying to acquire the market but tally still the most used accounting software in India also because it is a part of commerce stream syllabus in higher secondary education in some states
