P or Depository Participant leavies certain charges to account holders on regular basis. for. e.g. HDFC Bank annually charges Rs. 500 + Service Tax to all Demat accounts with it.

These fixed regular charges are called deopository charges. They can be annual, Quarterly or even Monthly (I think Reliance Securities charges Rs. 20/Month + Taxes) .
