Dear Friend, What are the challenges faced by the middleware system design The middleware system design faces several challenges: a) Middleware systems rely on interception and indirection mechanisms, which induce performance penalties. Adaptable middleware introduces additional indirections, which make the situation even worse. b) As applications become more and more interconnected and interdependent, the number of objects, users, and devices tends to increase. This poses the problem of the scalability of the communication and object management algorithms, and increases the complexity of administration. The availability, reliability, concurrency, security, and performance of applications may also be an issue. c) Widespread computing is a vision of the near future, in which an increasing number of devices embedded in various physical objects participate in a global information network. Mobility and dynamic reconfiguration will be dominant features, requiring permanent adaptation of the applications. d) Managing large applications that are heterogeneous, widely distributed, and in permanent evolution raises many questions, such as consistent observation, security, trade-offs between autonomy and interdependence for the different subsystems, and definition and implementation of resource management policies.

Challenges in middleware The designers of future middleware systems face several challenges in middleware. Some of them are listed here-in below. • A middleware system depends on interception mechanism and indirection mechanism which results in performance issues. This in one such challenges in middleware. • As applications become more and more interconnected and interdependent the number of objects, users and devices increase. This results in problem of scalability of communication and object management algorithms and increase the complexity of administration. • Ubiquitous computing is a vision of the coming future. In this many number of services are embedded in various physical objects that will be participating in global information network. Mobility and dynamic reconfiguration will be important features that requires permanent adaption of the applications. • Managing huge applications that are widely distributed raises many questions such as security, independence of sub systems, constant surveillance and implementation of resource management, etc.
