Hi I am Rohith. Can I know, What are some short term certification course that can be done along with CA ? (i.e.between period of appearing for final exam and date of result)
> What are some short term certification course that can be done along > with CA Final? --You should not run for adding more certificates and degrees in your CV rather opt such degrees and certifications which are necessary for your career objectives. -- As you are CA student, than it will be good to opt CS or LLB. -- You may opt for IFRS, CISA. -- Further, after completing CA you may go for post qualification courses offered by ICAI to its members. --There are many online courses you may do as per your convenience.
There are such courses, but there aren't such courses! ------------------------------------------------------ 1) Many colleges and universities have diploma and certification courses, but these are longer than the tenure your have mentioned, generally one to two years. 2) ICAI offers a lot of Post-qualification courses and certification courses, but the thing is they are for Members only! So you will have to wait for them. **3) Many online courses are available which give such kind of certification**, and they are just online, so you can do sitting at home, you may search google for that, **but the thing is they are no value addition! Seriously because they either don't carry value or they are already covered in CA syllabus, so no value addition!** 4) I am not sure about eligibility but Big Four firms, do organize certification courses on IFRS and similar areas. But probably these are not for students. 5) There are many other good value addition courses, but they are very long term and take atleast 2-3 years. 6) Lastly there are NSE NCFM certifications, you may pursue those, but they are not such a great value addition, if you are not looking for a job in finance! **Thus, there are such courses, but there aren't such courses! However, you may do following things:** **1) Self study**, Yes, pick up and area and start studying. It is okay that nobody certifies you but when you prepare resume for job, you can mention, I have good subject knowledge of these areas based on self study. But make sure you have, cross questions are definitely going to come, if you mention that! (Anyways even if you do certification, cross questions are asked) **2) Brush up your interview skills** and especially group discussion skills. **3) If your English is not good**, you can brush up your grammatical skills, vocabulary and English speaking. **4) Public speaking skills** are very important, you can work on them. **5) Join training with some CA firm or some other firm**, work on lower pay, but tell them that you want to learn specific skills. Let me tell you, work experience is always a better credential than any certification! **6) Write articles on key sub-topics, put them online.** There are various websites for this. This will help you attain deeper subject knowledge of a particular sub-topic.
