A person would be given the Accounting Technician Degree by ICAI upon completion of given below steps : 1. On clearing the Accounting Technician Exam i.e. CA Intermediate | CA IPCC Group I Exam 2. On completing the 35 hours Orientation and 100 hours Information Technology Training 3. On completion of 12 months of Articleship Training under a Chartered Accountant Further there is no restriction to pursue the CA Course even after availing the Accounting Technician Degree. A Candidate may register for the Accounting Technician Course directly after passing Class XIIth exam or after completing Graduation. He /she would be required to appear for CA Foundation | CA CPT + ATC Exam if enrolled after Class XIIth exam whereas a candidate enrolled after Graduation under the Direct Entry Scheme would be exempted from CA Foundation | CA CPT , they would have to appear for only ATC Exam . Hello, Institute wish that all those students who pursue CA should become CA , but unfortunately some give up in the middle after their certain unexpected reason to crack and other condition which make them to choose some other path. For such students institute has bring the ATC certificate. Students become eligible if they clear CA Intermediate | CA IPCC first group and complete their 12 months of articleship Then they can apply to the Institute for the ATC certificate and because of this you will be able to secure a good pacakge and also the can survive smoothly. You just have to make application along with the articleship 12 months completion proof. You can even apply online on ICAI website. But it for those who have given there full efforts but due to there hard luck could not crack it and it now possible for me to continue it.
Hie, Procedure to apply for ATC is :- 1. Download application form from website www.icai.org . While submitting the filled-in application form, a student has to remit Rs.100 for Prospectus along with registration fee. 2. Following should be submitted along with ATC enrollment form :- Prescribed registration fee in the form of Demand Draft, in favour of the Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India payable at either New Delhi/ Mumbai/ Chennai/ Kolkata/ Kanpur as the case may be depending upon the place of residence of the Student. Proof of passing the Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto. Or Proof of passing Chartered Accountants Entrance Examination or Foundation Examination or Professional Education (Examination – I) subject to complying with relevant conditions. ATC Accounting Technician Certificate is a way by which institute has come forward to help out those students who cannot invest much long time of their life for CA full course. As U have already mentioned that u have appeared for ca final xam that means u r in ur last yr of articleship or may be completed it. For geting ATC U should have registered as CA Intermediate | CA IPCC & ATC at the time of ur ipcc registeration. if not then also you can pay the prescribed fee and apply for that. all it needs is that you should be ipcc 1st group passed and should have completed 1yr of articleship. and as u have already appeared for CA final so that means u have completed both the above things so u can definitely apply for ATC if u wish not to continue with the course. ATC will help you to get good jobs as ca inter. u may refer to my other answered questions wherein i have told about job offers or expected pay scale for a ca inter student. U can add an extra weight to ur resume by writing ATC as ur qualification. CA inters are preferred in many industries due to their knowledge and working skills.
