It is not that difficult to study for both the exams but study plan depends on which level you are in? It must be made clear that topics covered in CA and CS are different. One can only correlate 30-40% of the topic. Majorly students who take up both CA and CS focuses primarily on CA and take CS as value add course. But do note, clearing CS is not as easy as it used to be. Level of questions asked in exam have gone up significantly. Now coming to your question of, how to prepare? For CA, search quora you will find numerous answers. For CS, your preparation will depend on what you want to focus on. Since CS require more of memorising it becomes bit difficult to go through every section of various law that is required to be studied. Considering clearing exam is primary focus, you don't need to worry about reading each and every section. If you are taking tuition than teacher will guide you on important sections. If you are not taking tuition it is advisable to be in touch with a student who is taking, they will help you to reduce your studies material to a manageable size. Even if that is not possible, buy a scanner (previous year questions). It will be good if you mark the answers in book provided by the institute. Focus on completing marked area first and then if you have time try to read unmarked portions. Generally there is atleast a month gap between CA and CS exams, and 30% topic can be correlated so focus is on completing remaining 70%. Divide the time you have among various topic you have to cover. Try to stick to timeline you have prepared. Note, first exam makes us more nervous and we often spend more time in studying it compared to others. So try to keep first exam topic for last few days. Keep patience and complete one law at a time. Keep revising what you have studied as you progress as so many law will confuse you.
Hi Janmay, It is fully possible to do CA and CS together!! It is always preferable to pursue both CA and CS Course together. A company will always want to hire a professional with much more diversified knowledge. If u pursue CA and CS together, it increases your earning opportunity. A company also has to spent less as it will not have to hire two professionals. Moreover, Academically you get exemptions. If you are CA Foundation | CA CPT pass, you do not have to give CS foundation. If you are CA pass, you do not have to give CS foundation and executive. You can directly sit for the finals.
Yes u can but.... I advice and suggest u that do only one single course according to ur core interest. It will help u to shape ur future in a better way.
Yes it is possible, if you have completed your ca CA Foundation | CA CPT then you are exempted from cs foundation exam where you can directly write cs executive exam which comprises of seven subjects.
Dear janmay, You can do CA & CS togetherly because of almost syllabus of both courses similar. but before you must need to think that you have sufficient time and able to work hard accordingly required to get the success in CA & CS. Both of Institute of related courses are absolutely permitted to go together.
CA and CS is surely possible !! As per the CA Act you can do one more course with CA. Ensure that you are not doing any B Com/M Com. If that's no the case then surely you can study and write both the exams.

It is very much possible to do CA and CS together. But it is advisable to choose one and focus on that.I seen myself after clearing CA Intermediate | CA IPCC,will have so much hectic schedule to study and attain CA final, though we manage that. And after that again CS.Why unnecessary trouble. After CA u can directly give CS exams by some exemptions.so Think and choose I dont want to underestimate you but think,if you are very much focus and can manage all those things then you can try. But it is always best to choose one and focus on that in straight way. Do one and try to get rank. How good it is getting rank!!!
You can easily do Ca and cs together. But it is advisable to do cs after completing Ca you can do cs since completing Ca final you can gain some exemption in cs executive and final. If you are charted accountant you can easily get exempted from cs article ship by a payment of fees for exemption. If you do cs after Ca you can have some better results in cs
Dear janmay You can pursue both the courses. Along with CA any one correspondence course is allowed to pursue. For this you have to give declaration to CA institute in form no. 112. But it should be noted that you have to pursue training for both the courses separately as there is no relaxation of CA training in cs . you can go for this as the syllabus is almost same and exams are also in different months. It is always an advantage to have an additional professional degree. All the best.
yes....it is possible to do ca & cs together if we are planning accordingly. even most of the syllebus are 50% same. and exams are coming in different month.. so you can go for it.. & i think this is good decision.. just tell yourself **i can do this....**
Hey Janmay CA and CS is surely possible !! ICAI and ICSI both permit this and allow students to carry the courses. Many of the students who do CA take up CS as an added course. The thing to be noticed is about the articleship period which has to managed. Otherwise there is no issue in doing the same. Exams for both the courses are in different months and you can choose your attempts as per your discretion and preparation. You need to plan your preparation well and study accordingly. But you need to know that both the courses are different and only around 40% topics can be correlated. So choose accordingly.
