Hi,
If you are an Indian CA since May 2003 or a passed finalist then you are exempted from 9 papers out of the 14 in the ACCA qualification. You are directly eligible to begin your ACCA qualification at the professional level and progress to your ACCA membership through just 5 papers. If you are an CA Intermediate | CA IPCC cleared student then you are eligible to get exemptions from F1-F3 papers of the ACCA qualification. THUS YOU HAVE TO CLEAR BOTH GROUPS FOR SUCH EXEMPTIONS.

One difference I can point out that makes ACCA "easier" is that it doesn't require you to do articleship while you are studying. You can do it before you are studying, after studying or during your studies. ACCA introduced IFRS way before ICAI introduced it to the syllabus, moreover, it is a well respected qualification, which you can use to work across Europe and Mid.East Asia/China/HK/Singapore/Malaysia etc.
