I think this is my fault as well. The developer worked on the project for so long that when I received the finished product, the design was no longer relevant for me, but I didn't bother to make changes. What should I do now?

That's a pity that this happened. It's very unpleasant, so I can imagine how you feel about all this. If I were you, I'd go to another company to make a new design. Of course, you will have to pay money again, because app design cost quite a lot, but it is worth it, so it is better not to save on it again.
