> How to write law paper to get exemption
-- Exam writing is art and the presentation of you answer to convey the examiner is most important.
-- In papers like Laws, its common to expect to write case laws and sections in the answers for good marks. No doubt such references in the answers impress the examiner for better marking.
-- In law if you know the relevant section and case law for the particular question than only write such sections and case laws.
-- Dont write sections or case laws if you dont know else it may drop wrong impression on the examiner.
-- However, its not compulsory to write them.
-- If you know the rule and act than also write the rule number and act year for better marking

Hi Vyshnavi,
You have not mentioned for which professional course you are asking for, If it is for CA then further my suggestion would be different for CA Intermediate | CA IPCC & CA Final.
For CA Intermediate | CA IPCC - If you go through the past papers you would get to know that the knowledge expected in this exams is not in depth. Thus application of law is not much important. However you would be expected to know all the sections and details about the same.
For CA Final - The knowledge expected in this exams is in depth. Here application of law is very important. Knowing the law as well as application of the same is very important. Thus if you don't remember the name of case law it will be fine.
However my opinion is as per the disclaimer given by me which is for CA course.
