Hello,
Delisting mean to remove the name of the scrip from the stock exchange. In other words "No trading of such shares can be done further" Voluntary delisting means company wish to delist is scrips from the stock exchange at his will. Whereas in case of Compulsory delisting if the company fail to comply with the listing clause then stock exchange remove the name of the scrip from the exchange. And removal is permanent.
In voluntary delisting, a company decides on its own to remove its securities from a stock exchange whereas in
compulsory delisting, the securities of a company are removed from a stock exchange as a penal measure for not
making submissions/complying with various requirements set out in the Listing agreement within the time frames
prescribed
We can simply distinguish the voluntary delisting and compulsory delisting . if company decide to delist on his own effort, than it is called as voluntary delisting. And if stock exchange force the company to get delisted due to non-compliance issues than it is called as compulsory delisting. this is the major deference of the voluntary delisting and compulsory delisting.
Hi Mukesh,
โDelistingโ is totally the reverse of listing. To delist means permanent removal of securities of a listed company from a stock exchange. As a consequence of delisting, the securities of that company would no longer be tradeable at that stock exchange.
Compulsory delisting refers to permanent removal of securities of a listed company from a stock exchange as a penalizing measure at the behest of the stock exchange for not making submissions/comply with various requirements set out in the Listing agreement within the time frames prescribed. In voluntary delisting, a listed company decides on its own to permanently remove its securities from a stock exchange.
