hello The closing price of the both exchanges traded in stock are calculated on average price rate. i.e investors believe market closes at 3:30pm. But the main reason is - average time starts at 3:00pm till 3:30pm (BSE&NSE). Post Closing session starts at 3:40pm in BSE and 3:50pm at NSE. Both exchanges calculate average trade volume and trade price. Average price is calculated on trades took place between half hour (3:00 to 3:30). Get displayed at 3:40 in BSE and 3:50 at NSE. Weighted average price of all trades executed during the last 30 minutes of a continues trading session, However if there is no trade recorded during the last 30 minutes then the last traded price of the shares in the continues session becomes the closing price for that share.

Share Market opens and closes everyday except on weekends as it remains closed from friday evening to monday morning. Calculation of Closing prices of shares traded at NSE and BSE are shown hereunder:- Weighted average price of all trades executed during the last 30 minutes of a continues trading session, However if there is no trade recorded during the last 30 minutes then the last traded price of the shares in the continues session becomes the closing price for that share. Here, last 30 Minutes means 15:00 hours to 15:30 hours as the market closes at 15:30 hours. Closing Prices are useful for analyst to analyse the fluctuations in the shares and to forecast for the shares value the next day which helps investors to plan for other day. So every investors eyes are at opening and closing prices of shares traded at NSE and BSE
