The recent May 2016 final results indicate that approximately 12,500 students qualified in this attempt. More than 20,000 pass each year. Considering that about 120,000 students wrote, it does not appear to be a great pass percentage. However pass percentage it is not 2 or 3% as many students believe. It is estimated that only 60% of the students would have taken up both groups seriously due to lack of time or decision to complete group wise. It is nearer 15% of all serious students. The percentage of result should improve as we see smarter students every year joining CA.

Hello, You need a proper timetable and a high level of concentration to prepare well. Prepare a time table that suits you the best. Next is your approach to your theory and practical papers For theory papers ----------------- Its just the approach due to which a student feels the theory paper to be tough. While you Start preparation **remove** the thought that "Theory papers are boring".. While you sit to study you need to do 3 reading- Gross Reading(1), Net Reading, Gross Reading (2). While Gross Reading(1), just go through the concepts so that you can get an idea of the matter that you are studying. This will give you the knowledge of the material. Next is Net Reading, here you have to understand the Word-to-word, Line-to-line meaning of what the topic wants to say. This ensures a thorough reading of the material. Lastly is again a Gross Reading(2), Under this is the revision of the material. Then when you have finished all of this, take a white sheet of paper and prepare notes what you have studied and preserve those notes. Refer to those notes once or twice a week. This will give you a thorough knowledge of of material and you will be able to perform well in your theory paper.. For Practical Papers, --------------------- First of all try to complete the syllabus atleast once. When you are solving a particular problem, mark them as A B C depending upon their difficulty level. A= hard, B= manageable, C= easy. Then when you are revising solve those question which are A B marked. Once you are done with it. Try out the Revisionary Test Papers. The more RTPs you solve, greater are your chances to clear. Use this ABC technique while solving RTPs also. Finally before the exams just go through the matter that are marked as A. **Lastly** Once you have done this Solve as many Test Papers as you can. Regularly sit for test that are available. This will enable you to understand the speed you require for solving the papers. If you follow this, you can easily clear CA Intermediate | CA IPCC in four months preparation.

Hi Taniya 4 months are sufficient enough to prepare for CA Intermediate | CA IPCC if planned well. At the same time short enough if there is lack of planning. I suggest that you study in the following manner: 1st and 2nd month: thoroughly study the classes notes and the institute's study material.mark all the questions you can not understand in one go and those are out of the box. 3rd month: go through all the questions marked earlier and solve past years mock test papers. 4th month: set aside 15 days where you mock the exam every alternate day. And check your answers. This will help you evaluate where you lack. For next 15 days practice all the areas where you lacked in your self evaluation. (Why the 15 days period is to be kept separately is because it will help you how to manage to study the entirr subject in just 1 day. So you might not face difficulty during the main CA Intermediate | CA IPCC exam.) This is something i followed. You may choose a different plan.
