Hello Guys, I recently joined a company named Indian Oil as an Industrial Trainee but i am not able to make time for my coaching classes and the main problem is CA final exam leave. They told that they will allow only 1 month leave for exam preparation. I am really confused, What I should do and how to prepare in short time? my exams are on Nov 2015. One more thing, is Industrial training with Indian Oil Company will add any value to my carrier ?

Hi Krunal,
The basic difference between artilceship and industrial training is change in the role.
In articleship training you work riguorously under an employer and work as article assistant. He/She is also called as auditor and audit different corporate bodies like companies etc. One audits the work of the auditee,
Whereas, in case of industrial training, one joins as industrial trainee in any of the companies approved by the institute, prepares all the details and get the work audited by the auditors.
The difference between articleship and industrial training is change of the position of the chair.
So far as your question is concerned that Industrial training with Indian Oil Company will add any value to your carrier ?? the answer is a lot.
There is high probable chance that the Company in which you have done your industrial training might absorb you. The Company need not spend its resources (either in the form of money or time) for training as the industrial trainee must have gathered required experience and knowledge of the workings of the Company.
You can check institute website for other details.
Further, as you said that time would be short for exam preparation, then you should utilise the time period which you are having before that one month period. Utilise the time a lot, read/study the topic in which u are dealing in the Company. Utilise the time of conveyance (office to residence and vice versa - read ebooks, study materials on auditing standards, accounting standards, Q and Ans on various topics /case laws/ amendments etc. in this period.
Happy learing,
Regards

Yes, having industrial training will actually enhance your CV.Chances will increase that you will get a better job that too with a superb package because of your extended knowledge which u will gain in industrial training in a multinational company. Having an industrial training will really affect your CV in a very positive manner.U will gain a better knowledge about what's going on in the corporate world.U can use the knowledge while working in a chartered accountant firm as an employee or practicing in your own firm.
BEST OF LUCK
THANK YOU,
REGARDS,
RISHABH SITANI.
Heyy....Congrats.
Don't worry it will add immense value to your curriculum vita and there are possibilities that you can get placed with Indian Oil itself after u get qualified. But there is a little risk for an industrial trainee that you will get very less leave. I got selected in GM chennai but rejected it and continued in articleship because i didnt wanted to take risk. U dont worry, now that u have joined i would suggest you to concentrate on studies as much as possible over the weekend and every night atleast for1 hour.
Best of luck and also do well in both industrial training and in your next attempt, surely there is a bright path ahead after that.
