If you have appeared for CA intermediate, you could have come through one of the two routes as below – 

  1. Normal scheme (After qualifying CA foundation, CPT exam)
  2. Direct scheme

Case 1 – You have not yet cleared any group yet, so you are yet to start with your articleship
Case 2 – You have cleared one group and you have just attempted the other group and waiting for the result

As discussed, there are two cases here – 
Case 1 – you have not yet cleared any group yet, so you are yet to start with your articleship

Case 1 has three scenarios, They are – 

  1. You are confident of crossing the line and clearing your exams (one group or both groups)
  2. You know things didn’t go well as planned and you will have to write the exam again (a few or all papers)
  3. You think you have a 50:50 chance

Clears either Group I/Group II or both the groups

 After clearing the Foundation examination, you should register for CA Intermediate Course (i.e. Next Level After CA Foundation) After 8 months of registration for the CA Intermediate course, you can appear for CA Intermediate examination. 

If you pass either Group I or Group II or both the groups of CA Intermediate examination, then you can register for a one month course of ICITSS.

After successful completion of a month course on ICITSS, then you can register for an articleship under a practicing Chartered Accountant.

What to do after CA Intermediate exams Case 1 – scenario 2

If you are sure that you will not clear both the groups or the second group.

  • After failing to clear both the groups in CA intermediate exams, you need to again enroll for next attempt and pay the exam fees. For the next 3 months, you will have less time to study and to attend coaching institutes.

If you are confused and unsure that you will be able to clear both the groups or second group (50-50 situation)

If you are not confident that you will clear both the groups or one of the groups, then you should start studying for the subjects that you think were difficult and should not wait till the results are declared.

It gives you an advantage where you can get an extra 2 months to prepare. Even if you pass the exam, there is no loss for you as the study will help you prepare better for future endeavors.

You need to analyze which are the papers have not cleared and scored fewer marks need to focus a lot on those papers. so that the same mistake won’t arise in the next attempt. Further information is the same as in scenario 2.

Case 2 – you have cleared one group and you have just attempted the other group and waiting for the result

Case 2 has three scenarios, They are –

  1. You are confident of crossing the line and clearing your exams (one group or both groups)
  2. You know things didn’t go as well as planned and you will have to write the exam again (a few or all papers)
  3. You think you have a 50:50 chance

  2. After completion of 9 months of articleship, you can appear for CA Inter examination,
