Sample Questions
Insert the missing number in each of the following
- 105 2. 142 3. 128 4 118
Answer : 3
Explanation : The pattern is: 62+28/10 = 9; 18+52/10 = 7. So, missing number= x+32/10 = 16, x=128.
- 80 2. 90 3. 72 4. 64
Answer : 2
Explanation : The pattern is: (12×4)-(5×3)=33,(15×7)-(8×6)=57. So, Missing number = (17×9)-(9×7)=90.
- 18 2. 20 3. 23 4 25
Answer : 2
Explanation : The pattern is: (65+25) – (33+25) =32, (32+9)-(15+6)=20. So, missing number = (18+20)-(13+5)=20. So answer is option 2
- 27 2. 15 3. 30 4. 63
Answer : 4
Explanation : Going anticlockwise starting from 0, the terms are: 12 – 1, 22 – 1, 32 – 1. So, missing number = 42 – 1 = 15. So answer is option 2
- 64 2. 18 3. 24 4. 27
Answer : 1
Explanation : Going anticlockwise starting from 1, numbers are 13,23,33, 43. So missing number is 64. So answer is option 1
17 | 16 | 15 |
52 | 39 | 26 |
29 | 44 | 59 |
37 | ? | 45 |
- 41 2. 43 3. 31 4. 40
Answer : 1
Explanation : In the each row middle term is average of extreme terms 17 + 15/2 = 16, 52+26/2 = 39. So, missing number =37+45/2 = 41 .Hence, the answer is option 1
P | J | 0 |
A | D | 1 |
0 | F | ? |
- F 2. G 3. H 4. K
Answer : 1
Explanation : Positions of alphabets (A to Z) is (1 -26) we have: In the first column, P-A= 16-1 = 15=0.
In the second column, J-D=10-4=6=F.
So, in the third column, missing letter =O-I=15-9=6 =F So the answer is option 1
Find the missing term in each of the following
- 445 2. 446 3. 472 4. 435
Answer : 1
Explanation : We have : 1×1 + 1 =2, 2×2+2=6, 6×3+3 = 21,21 ×4+4=88. So, missing number=88×5+5=445 so answer is option 1
- 8 2. 9 3. 4 4. 25
Answer : 3
Explanation : The two ends of each line contain a number and its square – 5. e.g. 151 2-5 = 220, 182-5=319 So, missing number =32-5=4. So answer is option 3
- 70 2. 206 3. 106 4 100
Answer : 2
Explanation : The pattern is middle number is sum of extreme terms. So, missing number = 52+48+49+57=206 So the answer is option 2
