In this article, I am going to write account opening procedure in State Bank of India. Hope it will be helpful to all of you.

PROCEDURE FOR ACCOUNT OPENING IN SBI:

Following steps are listed to open an account in SBI:

  1. Firstly you have to go to your nearest branch of SBI for collecting an account opening form. Fill all required details as per the guidelines listed at the end of the form.
  2. You have to ask the documents required to open the account. Generally following documents are needed. All the documents must be self attested.Proof of Identity Proof of Address Letter from an employer if account is salary account
  3. Attach one passport size photograph on form & send one photo in envelope while sending form to the bank.
  4. Sign on all required boxes on form (First & joint applicants).
  5. Take on xerox copy of the form for your record.
  6. Submit form along with all self attested documents to your branch of SBI.
  7. Bank will verify the form along with all required documents & account will be opened.
  8. You may require to deposit some minimum amount to your account & maintain it always as per bank’s policy.
