Panjab University Bcom List of Colleges : The University has been incorporated for the purpose, among others, of making provision for imparting education in Arts, Letters, Science and the learned professions and of furthering advancement of learning, the prosecution of original research, with power to appoint University Professors, Readers and Lecturers, to hold and manage educational endowments, to erect, equip and maintain University colleges, libraries, laboratories and museums, to making regulations relating to the residence and conduct of students and to do all such acts as tend to promote study and research”

In independent India, Panjab University with its Campus at Chandigarh and nearly two hundred colleges in Punjab state and Chandigarh U.T., has served various societal needs with distinction. The glorious traditions of the University established during the period of more than 133 years of its long service to the nation since its inception are a source of inspiration for the present generation of faculty members and students.

By virtue of its history, experience, achievements and philosophy, the Panjab University has a national character and it enjoys an international stature drawing both faculty and students from all over the country and different parts of the globe. Its faculty includes some of the most distinguished scientists and academicians. It continues to attract celebrated scholars at the campus. B.COM VIDEO LECTURES

In Chandigarh, the newly built capital of Punjab, a beautiful red sandstone campus was designed for the Panjab University by Pierre Jeanneret under the general guidance of Le Corbusier. Panjab University moved here during 1958-1960.

Till the re-organisation of Punjab in 1966, the University had its regional centres at Rohtak, Shimla and Jalandhar and its affiliated colleges were located in the States of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

With the re-organization of Punjab, the University became an Inter-State Body Corporate catering to the newly organized States of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

Gradually, the colleges of Himachal and Haryana were affiliated to the Universities in the respective states and the Panjab University was left with the affiliated colleges in the Union Territory of Chandigarh and some parts of Punjab.

The Panjab University Campus at Chandigarh accommodates seventy three teaching and research departments/institutes/centres besides four independent Chairs for research. Furthermore, the university has 189 affiliated/constituent colleges spread over Punjab and Chandigarh besides Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Kauni. In addition, there is the Vishveshavaranand Vishwa Bandhu Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies at Hoshiarpur.

General important instructions for Counselling:

1. The candidate should bring with them the following ORIGINAL documents along with one set of self attested photocopy of the documents at the time of admission.
   1. 10+2 Certificate of the Board concerned
   2. 10th Certificate showing date of birth
   3. Proof for claim of reserved category, if any
   4. Affidavit attested by the 1st Class Magistrate, explaining the gap in studies, if any
   5. Undertaking as given in Handbook of Information 2017 of Panjab University (Page No. 278), in case of One Girl Child Out of the Only Two Girl Children.
   6. Character Certificate from the Institution last attended.
   7. Aadhaar Card (Optional)
2. Physical presence of Applicant is must for admission
3. Fee is to be deposited on the spot at the time of admission. Students are advised to bring Rs. 25,000/-(approx.) to be deposited at the time of admission. No extra time for depositing fee will be given.
4. Candidates have to deposit fee on the spot after getting admission in College (New admission as well as shifting to other college). The candidates who shift to another college will apply for the refund to the previous college.
5. Dates for the Third counselling (If required) will be announced later.

Note

• Backward Classes reservation is only in the Department of Evening Studies – Multi Disciplinary Research Centre, Panjab University.

• *Children of Defence/Para-military Person will be considered under UT Pool only, even if they have passed their 10+2 examination from outside Chandigarh School.

• Two seats for one girl child in each college (co-ed/girls college) and maximum limit of 4 seats per course.

• **No pool quota in Department of Evening Studies – Multi Disciplinary Research Centre, PU.

• Candidates who have not studied 10+2 at Chandigarh are eligible for general pool under 15% quota.

The candidates who have passed 10+2 from Open School/Open University shall be considered in General Pool (15% Quota) @ Seats will be distributed among the pools after deducting the sports quota as per Govt. guidelines.

Reservation policy and rules of Chandigarh Administration will apply for admission to the colleges affiliated to Panjab University, situated in Chandigarh and for admission to the Department of Evening Studies – Multi Disciplinary Research Centre, Panjab University, reservation policy and rules of Panjab University will apply.
