Nagpur University students have a reason to cheer, as they would now be getting timetable as well as their examination centre, about three months in advance. The university administration is planning to offer these new facilities to the students from next year in summer.

Till winter exams, students used to face perennial problems of late declaration of time table and even the exam centres by NU, besides inordinate delay in results declaration. They were literally made to run from pillar to post during the exam period, when they should be ideally studying. During summer exams in March this year, many of them were given hall tickets and exam centres on the morning of their exams.

In its quest for carrying out much needed reforms in the examinations, the administration under vice chancellor SP Kane and pro-VC Pramod Yeole brought these latest changes with a view to provide respite to the students. “We had already started providing timetable of professional exams about two months before. Now, we would be providing centre name about three months in advance. For next March’s exams, the centre names would be provided in January itself, so that students can focus on their studies,” Yeole told TOI.
