Admission in majority of the programmes offered at colleges affiliated to Delhi University is on the basis of merit wherein the best-of-four percentage is calculated. Here, candidates can select marks scored by them in any four subjects in their Class XII exams and thereafter calculate the aggregate marks/percentage scored by them.

After calculating their best of four score, aspirants need to check the cut-off lists released by Delhi University. If they meet the cut-offs released for DU admissions they are eligible to secure a seat in the course and college of their choice.

Candidates are informed that DU has decided to release only five cut-off lists each year for admissions. After the five lists are released if seats still remain vacant in some DU colleges then these colleges are allowed to conduct their own admission process in order to shortlist aspirants for admission to fill the vacant seats.

It may be noted that admission in MBA courses offered at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), DU is done on the basis of CAT scores followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round and an extempore speech (if applicable).
