Kerala University Mcom Exam Centres : University of Kerala has sixteen faculties and forty one Departments of teaching and research. Teaching, Research and Knowledge extension are the mandate of the Departments. They primarily focus on post-graduate (masters) programmes, MPhil programmes (1-year research degree) and doctoral research. The Departmental Councils consisting of all faculty members of the Departments have financial and academic powers.

Headship of the Department is on a rotation-basis. Each Dept falls under one of the Faculties which is headed by a Dean of Faculty (Various programmes in affiliated colleges also fall under respective faculties). Department are listed below faculty-wise (except Institute of Distance Education, which is imparts education in subjects under many faculties):

1. All candidates who wish to apply for PG Programme (irrespective of Category) must compulsorily register online, including Community Quota and Management Quota.

2. Those who wish to apply for admission under Community quota shall submit hard copy(Print out) of the application, to the respective colleges, within the time prescribed by the University.

3. The candidates who are applying for Sports Quota should specifically mention the same during the Online Registration. They will be considered for General merit seats also. Such candidates should take the hard copy of the application and submit it to the respective Colleges where they wish to be considered under Sports Quota along with the attested copies of the supporting documents.

4. The candidates who come under the PWD (Persons With Disability-Differently Abled) quota should specifically mention the same at the time of online registration.

5. The candidates applying for Management quota seats / Special reservation Nominees should register online before the closure of admission. After completion of the online registration, the candidate should take the print out of the same. DO NOT SEND HARD COPIES TO THE UNIVERSITY. The hard copy of the online application with supporting documents should be kept by the candidate and it has to be submitted at the time of admission in the respective colleges.

6. Candidates coming under SC/ST/OEC/SEBC are not eligible for BPL reservation. Only the candidates belonging to the Forward communities who are economically backward are eligible for BPL reservation. A certificate from local body (Panchayat/Municipality/Corporation) to that effect along with community certificate from the competent authority shall be produced at the time of admission. In case of failure to specify the community, the candidate shall not be eligible for reservation in the BPL category.

End Semester Examination of all the Courses in all Semesters shall be conducted by the University. The results of the ESE shall be arranged to be published according to the examination calendar prescribed by the University Level Monitoring Committee which shall not exceed 45 days from the last day of the examination. 

During evaluation of answer script of a course, each descriptive answer is directly given a letter grade in place of marks on the basis of an assessment of the quality of the answer. In case of objective type of questions, grading is undertaken by bunching them into 4. If all the 4 answers in a bunch are correct, the bunch can be graded as A; if 3 are correct, the grade is B; if 2 are correct, the grade is C; if 1 is correct the grade is D; if no answer is correct, the grade is E. Both Continuous Evaluation (CE) and End Semester Evaluation (ESE) will be carried out using the Direct Grading System on a 5 point scale as given below:

Commerce as Core Course with not less than 1.8 CGPA[S] * out of 4 /BCom Computer Application/ B.Com. Tourism and Travel Management (Career Related/ Vocational/Restructured)/B.Com.Tax Procedure and Practices (Career Related/ Vocational/ Restructured)/ B.Com Actuarial Science (Vocational)/ B.Com Office Management & Secretarial Practice/B.Com Hotel Management and Catering (Career Related/ Restructured). BBA/BBS/BBM graduates are also eligible. 80% of the total seats for M.Com. Degree Courses in affiliated Colleges shall be reserved for candidates with B.Com. Degree and the remaining 20% seats open to Graduates of B.Com. and BBA, BBS & BBM Degree holders, if otherwise eligible based on merit.
