Kerala University Mcom Admission Form : Admissions to the seats to be filled by the University for the PG courses (except those specifically mentioned) are regulated on the basis of grade/marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. All candidates who wish to apply for PG Programme (irrespective of Category) must compulsorily register online, including Community Quota and Management Quota.

2. Those who wish to apply for admission under Community quota shall submit hard copy(Print out) of the application, to the respective colleges, within the time prescribed by the University.

3. The candidates who are applying for Sports Quota should specifically mention the same during the Online Registration. They will be considered for General merit seats also. Such candidates should take the hard copy of the application and submit it to the respective Colleges where they wish to be considered under Sports Quota along with the attested copies of the supporting documents.

4. The candidates who come under the PWD (Persons With Disability-Differently Abled) quota should specifically mention the same at the time of online registration.

5. The candidates applying for Management quota seats / Special reservation Nominees should register online before the closure of admission. After completion of the online registration, the candidate should take the print out of the same. DO NOT SEND HARD COPIES TO THE UNIVERSITY. The hard copy of the online application with supporting documents should be kept by the candidate and it has to be submitted at the time of admission in the respective colleges.

6. Candidates coming under SC/ST/OEC/SEBC are not eligible for BPL reservation. Only the candidates belonging to the Forward communities who are economically backward are eligible for BPL reservation. A certificate from local body (Panchayat/Municipality/Corporation) to that effect along with community certificate from the competent authority shall be produced at the time of admission. In case of failure to specify the community, the candidate shall not be eligible for reservation in the BPL category.

a. Candidates should have passed the corresponding Degree examination under the 10+2+3 pattern with Core Course and Complementary Course/with one main subject and two subsidiary subjects from any of the Universities in Kerala or of any other University recognized by the University of Kerala as equivalent thereto for admission, subject to the stipulation regarding grade/marks.

b. Double or Triple main candidates or candidates who have passed the Degree Examination in Vocational or Specialized Courses are also eligible for admission. However, they have to submit a copy of the Equivalency and Eligibility certificate from the University of Kerala, stating that, their qualifying examination is recognized for seeking admission to the relevant PG Degree programme as applicable, at the time of admission.

c. The minimum requirement of grade/marks for admission to PG Degree Courses is given in the relevant sections. No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted.

MCom Courses

  • M.Com: Commerce as Core Course with not less than 4.5 CCPA(S) * out of 10 /BCom Computer Application/ B.Com. Tourism and Travel Management (Career Related/ Vocational/Restructured)/B. Com. Tax Procedure and Practices (Career Related/ Vocational/ Restructured)/ B.Com Actuarial Science (Vocational)/ B.Com Office Management & Secretarial Practice/B.Com Hotel Management and Catering (Career Related/ Restructured). BBA/BBS/BBM graduates are also eligible. 80% of the total seats for M.Com. Degree Courses in affiliated Colleges shall be reserved for candidates with B.Com. Degree and the remaining 20% seats open to Graduates of B.Com. and BBA, BBS & BBM Degree holders, if otherwise eligible based on merit.(U.O.No.Ac.AIII/1/40 61/2013, dated 09.07.2014)
  • Commerce as Core Course with not less than 1.8 CGPA(S) * out of 4 /BCom Computer Application/ B.Com. Tourism and Travel Management (Career Related/ Vocational/Restructured)/B.Com . Tax Procedure and Practices (Career Related/ Vocational/ Restructured)/ B.Com Actuarial Science (Vocational)/ B.Com Office Management & Secretarial Practice/B.Com Hotel Management and Catering (Career Related/ Restructured). BBA/BBS/BBM graduates are also eligible. 80% of the total seats for M.Com. Degree Courses in affiliated Colleges shall be reserved for candidates with B.Com. Degree and the remaining 20% seats open to Graduates of B.Com. and BBA, BBS & BBM Degree holders, if otherwise eligible based on merit.(U.O.No.Ac.AIII/1/4061/2 013, dated 09.07.2014) 
  • B.Com with not less than 45% marks in part III optional subjects/BCom. Computer Application/ B.Com. Tourism and Travel Management (Vocational and Restructured)/ B.Com Tax procedure and Practices (Vocational and Restructured)/ B.Com Actuarial Science (Vocational)/ B.Com Office Management & Secretarial Practice/ B.Com Hotel Management and Catering (Restructured)/ BBA/BBS/BBM. 80% of the total seats for M.Com. Degree Courses in affiliated Colleges shall be reserved for candidates with B.Com. Degree and the remaining 20% seats open to Graduates of B.Com. and BBA, BBS & BBM Degree holders, if otherwise eligible based on merit. (U.O.No. Ac.AIII/1/4061/2013, dated 09.07.2014)
  • *CCPA(S) is CCPA for specialized subjects (it is computed without considering the Language Courses, Foundation Course for Language and Open Course).

Candidates qualified in CBCS pattern will be ranked on the basis of the CCPA obtained in the Core and Complementary Courses. A= {(CCPA(core course) x Core course Credit) + (CCPA(Complementary course ) x Complementary course Credit) } / (Total Credit for core + Total Credit for complementary ) B=A*10 B is then normalized to 1000.

Candidates qualified in CBCS pattern will be ranked on the basis of the CGPA obtained in the Core and Complementary Courses. A= {(CGPA(core course) x Core course Credit) + (CGPA(Complementary course ) x Complementary course Credit) } / (Total Credit for core + Total Credit for complementary ) B=A*25 B is then normalized to 1000.

The internal marks awarded at the B.Com level will not be considered while calculating index marks. NOTE: In case of the candidates who have passed the Vocational/restructured the marks scored in the University Examination (2nd, 4th and 6th semesters) alone will be considered for ranking purpose.

HOW TO APPLY

(a) Any candidate who wishes to join PG Programme in colleges affiliated to University of Kerala should compulsorily register online at http://admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in.

(b) The site is optimized with the latest versions of Mozilla firebox, Google chrome etc.

(c) The candidates are advised to enable “JavaScript” before proceeding with the Registration.

(d) Read the instructions carefully before proceeding with the registration.

(e) Do not press “back” button during the process of registration.

Online Registration.

The Registration Fee will be as follows:

1. For General candidates: Rs 300/- 2. For SC/ST candidates: Rs 150/-. The Registration Fee can be remitted `in any branch of State Bank of India using the downloaded Chalan. The original pay-in-slip (University’s Copy) from the bank should be kept safely as the same is to be submitted to the Principal at the time of admission. A candidate who does not belong to SC/ST Community will be treated as “General” candidate for this purpose. Candidates shall not remit the fee in any other form like Demand Draft, Cheque etc.

Note: The Registration fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

2. The first step of PG online registration process is to click on “Click here for Registration” button available in the home page of the website www.admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in. After that, the candidate has to provide the minimum details like Name, Date of birth, Gender, Category and Email id. After entering the required details the candidate will be provided with a unique application number. Note the Application Number and Password for future use. This application number and password must be used for all the PG online admission related activities. Till the prescribed date and time, candidates can login to the site with these credentials.

3. Login: After generating the Application number, the candidate should login with the Application number and Password.

4. Instructions For Online Registration: Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before registration. After reading the instructions click the “Proceed” Button. Do not press BACK BUTTON during Registration.

STEPS FOR THE ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Step 1: Candidate profile Registration Candidate should enter the personal details here. Fields marked with * are mandatory.

i. Name (As in the certificate of the qualifying examination).

ii. Date of Birth (dd/mm/yyyy format).

iii. Gender (Choose Male, Female or Transgender).

iv. Nationality : Whether Indian or not ?

v. Keralite : Whether Keralite or not ? 

vi. Address: The candidate has to provide the permanent address for communication. Providing Mobile Number, Land Phone Number and Email-Id, would enable the candidate for proper communication. (For Emails check Spam folder also).

vii. Religion: Select your religion.

viii. Communal Reservation Category: State whether the candidate wish to avail the benefit of communal reservation or not. By choosing YES, the candidate will be considered for reservation benefit and he/she should be able to produce the community and income proof accordingly. 

ix. Category: Select Communal reservation category.

x. Caste : Select caste.

xi. BPL: It is the reservation seats for forward community candidates who are economically backward. If the candidate choose YES, he/she has to submit certificates to support the claim.

xii. OEC (Other Eligible Communities): Select ‘YES’ only if the candidate belongs to OEC category.(See Annexure IV in Prospectus)

xiii. Whether Creamy Layer: Enter the creamy or non-creamy layer status.

xiv. PWD ( Persons With Disabilities ) : It is the claiming of seats reserved for persons who are differently abled. If the candidate choose YES, he/she has to submit certificates to support the claim.

xv. Special Reservation: Candidate can claim Special Reservation if he/she has any weightage for NCC, NSS or Kalathilakam/ Kalaprathiba of University of Kerala. Documents should be available with candidate to support the claim.

xvi. Reservation for Nominees 

xvii. Are you interested to apply in Self Financing colleges & UIT: If the candidate mentions ‘YES’, he/she can apply for admission in Self Financing Colleges & UITs in addition to Government and Aided colleges.

If the candidate mentions ‘NO’, he/she can apply for admission in Government and Aided colleges only. xviii. Have you won any sports competitions? :

  • The candidate can select ‘YES’ if he/she has won in sports competitions at District/State/National/International level and also mention the sports item.
  • After filling this profile, the candidate can continue registration by clicking the button “Save and Continue”.
  • It directs the candidate to “Academic Profile Registration” page.

Step 2: Academic Profile Registration. Enter details of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination.

i. Select the University: Select the name of university from the list (University of Kerala, Cochin University Science and Technology, Kannur University, University of Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi University). If the name of the University is not listed, then select ‘Other’; and enter the name of university.

ii. Select the Degree Programme: Select the Degree Programme from the list (BA/B.Sc/B.Com etc).

iii. Specialization: Specialization such as English, Physics, Commerce etc.

iv. Number of Appearances: The number of chances availed by the candidate to complete the qualifying examination.

v. Year of Passing: Select the year of passing of qualifying examination.

vi. Examination Register Number : The Register number of qualifying examination. (ie, Degree Level)

vii. Mark Details: Choose appropriate Mark System. If the candidate has studied under Grade system in any other University other than University of Kerala , it is his /her responsibility to convert his /her grades into marks by following the directions from his/her University and produce the valid documents at the time of admission. He/She should specify the additional qualifications, he/she is having from the list given.

Step 3: Download chalan Download the chalan and take a printout of the chalan generated and remit the required fee at any branch of SBI.

Step 4: Enter Registration Fee remittance details After remitting the ‘registration fee’, login again to your account with the Application number and Password. After logging in, the candidates are directed to the page for entering the ‘registration fee’ remittance details. After entering all the required fields, click the “Proceed” Button.

Step 5: Upload photo and Signature: Photo [ 150px X 200px (WIDTH X HEIGHT), 40kb, .jpg format only] must be clear and with light background. Signature [with 150px X 60px (WIDTH X HEIGHT), 40kb, .jpg format only] must be clear. For uploading photo and signature, select the image file on the PC using “Browse” button. After uploading the photo and signature, click “Continue” button for further registration.

Step 6: Add and Change Options. University of Kerala PG Admission – 2017 35 Candidates can select options of their choice. Options should be given very carefully. Here student can select Course and college of their choice and click “Add Option” button to confirm it. A student can select up to a maximum of 20 options in courses and colleges they wish to join.

The steps involved in registering of options are summarized below:

a. Choose the stream (MA/ MSc/ M Com.)

b. Choose the programme (Sociology, Zoology, etc.)

c. Select the College, where the chosen programme is offered.

d. Click the button ‘Add Option’. The college which is selected first will be the ‘first option’ of the candidate for that Programme.

e. The Programme and college will be displayed below. A candidate can register all the available options by repeating the steps given above, if he/she desires so. However, it is not compulsory that he/she should exercise all the options. The candidate is advised to give option to colleges / courses depending upon his/her interest. The preference numbers along with the selected options shows the priority of options.

So candidate must be very careful in prioritizing their options.

The steps involved in changing the preference of options are summarized below.

a. Select the option to be changed.

b. Suppose the candidate wants to change preference to a higher one (eg:-option with preference no.3 need to be changed to the one with preference no 2), click the row with the option to be moved, click Up arrow ( ) once, so that it will be changed accordingly. By clicking the down arrow ( ), the candidate can bring the preference to a lower one. If option 5 is to be brought to 2, the up arrow has to be clicked thrice. Existing option can be deleted by clicking the ( ) button link.

c. DO NOT FORGET to click the button ‘Save & Refresh Options’ to finalize selected options. If any alteration is made in the selected option list, DO NOT FORGET to click ‘Save & Refresh Options’ button. After adding all the options click “Preview and Verify Completed Application” button for further registration.

Step 7: VERIFY THE APPLICATION

The candidate can verify/edit the submitted application before taking the print out of the completed Application form. After clicking the ‘Print Completed Application’ button, no changes can be made in the submitted application form.

Step 8: Print out of completed application form

Click the ‘Print Completed Application’ button to take the print out of the completed application form. The Registration process is completed only after taking the print out of the completed application form. Those candidate who have not taken the print out of the completed application form will not be considered for the admission. Candidates are instructed to submit their application online within the time schedule specified, through the admission portal. 

DO NOT SEND HARD COPIES TO THE UNIVERSITY. The hard copy of the online application with supporting documents should be kept by the candidate and it has to be submitted at the time of admission in the respective college.

THE CANDIDATE WHO HAS NOT TAKEN THE PRINTOUT OF THE APPLICATION FORM, WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION AND THIS ONLINE APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION.
