Jamia Milia Islamia University Bcom List of Colleges : In Urdu Jamia means ‘University’ and Millia means ‘National’. Jamia  Millia Islamia is a Central University created through the Act of Indian Parliament in 1988. The University is open to all persons irrespective of caste, color and creed. 

Jamia Millia Islamia is located on the south-east corner of Delhi. One may reach the University by road. It is well-connected to all parts of Delhi. From the Indira Gandhi International Airport, it is situated at a distance of 25 kms. From the New Delhi and Old Delhi Railway Stations, the distance to Jamia is about 16 kms. From the Inter State Bus Terminus, Kashmiri Gate the distance of Jamia is 20 kms., whereas from Vivek Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan Bus Terminus the Jamia is at a distance of 16 kms. and 6 kms. respectively.

Jamia schools are an integral part of the University. The University itself runs the schools and conducts the examinations of all the courses. These schools also form part of the practicing schools for the Faculty of Education, JMI.

Educators and researchers have contributed to expanding knowledge in all the faculties, departments and centres of Jamia Millia Islamia. Jamia has “unwavering commitment to excellence”, and to maintain the quality of education as well as research. The university has obtained grade “A” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in
2015.

Jamia Millia Islamia is endeavoring to strengthen the scientific output in terms of publications based on its research productivity, impact, innovation and excellence.

It is an indicator of Jamia’s contribution to higher education that five professors from Jamia Millia Islamia are currently Vice-Chancellors of different Universities in India.

JMI-Jamia Millia Islamia

Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. Jamia has a campus wide network which connects a large number of its departments and offices. JMI, being a traditional university and one of the oldest gems of India lies at the helms of educational marvels and have a number of notable alumnis.
