D G  Sharma Books:

I Devendra Sharma, was born on 10th August, 1963 at Nagpur. My father Late Shri. G.P. Sharma, a school teacher, has been the biggest influence on my life. Whatever I am today is the result of his teaching, guidance, encouragement and moral support. My mother Savitridevi Sharma a housewife has always been very kind, caring and supportive to me till now. I will always be indebted to god for giving me such great parents.

Though I have been good in studies I was never very studious. I never enjoyed studies, rather I took it as my duty and a necessity for my future. Apart from my parents, I was inspired by my brother, sisters and cousins who all are well educated and this forced me also to study. I used to always feel very happy, encouraged and get emotionally attached with the success and achievements of anyone, be he known to me personally or otherwise like Amitabh Bachhan, Dr. Abdul Kalam, great personalities of my profession, like Shri Ashok Chandak (Past President of ICAI), Shri T.N. Manoharan (Past President of ICAI) and Shri Jaydeep Shah (Present Vice-President of ICAI), great teachers, defense personnel and handicapped or other underprivileged people performing in sports or T.V. shows etc. The list is unending.

All this made me to do something good in my educational, professional or now teaching line. I owe my success to all of them.
I did my schooling, upto 7th standard from ‘Saraswati Sadan’, Dharampeth, Nagpur (which closed down subsequently). Later, I shifted to ‘Seth Madhuradas Rathi Hindi Bhasi Sangh Govt. High School, Cotton Market, Nagpur (where my father was a teacher) and completed my SSC with 80% marks. Upto 10th class I took education in Hindi medium, thereafter I switched over to English medium.

I joined G.S. College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur and completed XII (HSSC) in Commerce with 4th Rank in the merit list. There I was a student of great teacher Dr. V.K. Jain (a founder of CAPS). I completed Graduation also from G.S., though I was not able to attend college due to my CA Articleship.

After XII, I cleared CA Entrance and started Articleship with Chartered Accountant Shri Mahesh Taori, Nagpur. During Articleship I completed my CA Intermediate for which I studied Maths & Stats from another great teacher CA Shri Pramod Mitkary (a founder of CAPS). From 1985 to 1988 I was in Mumbai (then Bombay) and worked with Lupin Group of Companies and CA Shri Praveen Mashru. During this period I completed CA Final and also did ICWA Final. Later on I also completed Company Secretaryship (CS).
I shifted back to Nagpur in April 1988 and started Practicing as a Chartered Accountant and also teaching CA students. Slowly I got fully engrossed with teaching and I liked it too. Hence, progressively I withdrew from CA practice totally.
I have always looked up to myself as a teacher, a guide and an elder to all my dear students. I think they already have lot many friends and they don’t need one more like me. Rather they need someone to guide them, to give them right direction, to advise and explain what is right and what is wrong about their studies, their behaviour, their future or about moral values, etc. So, I am a teacher of the old type.
The great respect, love and affection shown to me by all my dear students, whether qualified or not, whether they have attained great heights or not, they are all very dear to me. They have given me the identity of teacher, have improved my teaching style, my course material and have given me the strength to keep young and work this much at this stage of my life.
During all this hectic educational and professional journey, personal life too continued. I got married and
have got two sons. One is doing CA and other Engineering. I have always tried to be honest,ethical
and trustworthy in all my acts and deeds and pray to the almighty to always keep me on the right
track and let me live a respectable life till the end.
