CS Foundation Exam Pattern
CS Foundation Exam Pattern : After completion of a minimum period of 8 months from the date of admission (excluding the month of admission and the month of examination), the candidates would be eligible to seek enrollment for appearing in the
Foundation Programme examination presently conducted twice a year in June and December. Examination will be comprising of objective type multiple-choice questions. There would be two parts in a paper consisting of two subjects of 100 marks each.

CS Foundation Exam Pattern : The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is an organisation that has stood out for right regulation and continuous development in the profession of company secretaries in the country. Keeping aside awarding degrees and membership to candidates, ICSI has always aimed to raise the bar in terms of striking a balance between professional education and expertise. This effort has reached fruition in recent years in the scores of applicants taking up the CS course. ICSI membership is considered as the standalone benchmark for recruitment in central and state government posts as well for job openings in the corporate world.
ICSI awards degrees and membership to candidates on the basis of performance in the ICSI exam. This exam is conducted in three different stages. The foundation course program constitutes various important subjects that form the base of the profession. This is followed by the intermediate exam which consists of 12 theoretical subjects arranged into two groups of four papers consisting of 100 marks each. The final exam is the last and most important.

Candidates who have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) examination of a Board/University constituted by law in India or any examination recognised by the Central Government as equivalent thereto are eligible.
Exemption From Foundation Examination:-
Duration of Foundation Programme is 8 months, excluding the months of admission and the examination. Foundation Programme students are required to pass the Foundation examination within 3 years from the date of their admission.

The CS Foundation programme carries with it four papers:
• Business atmosphere & Entrepreneurship
• Business Management, Ethics & Communication
• Business political economy and Fundamentals of Accounting
• Auditing.
The following is the scheme of Computer Based Examination:-

Candidates would be required to sit before a computer terminal and use computer-mouse while attempting the questions. Computer Based Examination would be held in all those cities in India and aboard, where the Institute’s existing examinations are held. Details of examination centres/venues will be informed separately.
Questions would be displayed on the computer screen both in English as well as Hindi language except for Business Management, Ethics and Communication paper, for which questions shall be provided in English medium only.

CS Foundation Registration is open throughout the year. Candidates registered up to and including the month of March are eligible to take Foundation examination earliest in December in the same year and those registered up to and including September can take up the examination in June next year subject to satisfactory completion of coaching. So
If you want to write CS Foundation exam in june 2019, you should register before 31st March 2019.
If you want to write CS Foundation exam in dec 2019, you should register before 30th September 2019.

CS Foundation Exam Pattern : What are the Documents Required For CS Foundation Registration

Please note that before proceeding for online registration, you need to have the soft copy of the following documents for uploading the same on the website at your respective account to get the online registration process completed
- Photograph of the candidate
- Signature of the candidate
- DOB Certificate (10th Pass Certificate)
- Roll Number (if appearing in 10+2)
- 12th Passing certificate/Mark sheet
- Category Certificate (if belonging to SC/ST OR Physically Handicapped Category)
Please ensure that the documents are only in the following formats otherwise you will not be able to upload the documents
- File format is jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp
- File sizes of documents does not exceed 5 MB
- Size of Student Photo is between 20KB – 50KB
- Size of Student Signature is between 10 KB – 20 KB

Please Note – User Id or Login ID is always your CS Course registration number
Now Please Follow Below Procedure
- User will double click on web browser (recommended web browser Internet explorer 9 or above, Google Chrome 39 or above, Mozilla 38 or above) to open the web browser and type the URL http://smash.icsi.in in the web browser address bar.
- Login to Online Services at www.icsi.edu (https://smash.icsi.in/Scripts/login.aspx) Before login, please forget or reset your password by click on “Forget Password” link (Please forget password only first time, not repeat this step every time)
- After successful login user will navigate to Welcome screen where user go to the header menu MODULE and go to sub menu ENROLMENT.
- User will click on Examination Enrolment Request under ENROLMENT sub menu and navigated to the Examination Enrolment Request screen as shown in below screen.
- User will be navigated to below screen where User Request to Enroll.
- Click on the “Add Enrollment Request” button to open the enrollment form.
- Note: Enable popup window of the web browser.
Note: Review all the selected information in the enrollment form before clicking on the “Next” button as any later changes will be allowed up to certain stipulated dates and additional fee (varies from time to time) will be levied for all such changes.
- After the click on “Next” button from screen Enrollment Form, Fee Detail page will be displayed.
- Read the agreement and check the agreement checkbox (if agree) and then click on “Next” button on Fee Detail screen. On this screen user will have option to go back and make any changes.
- Preview screen will be displayed to review the enrollment detail and confirm the enrollment for the session. On this screen user will have option to go back and make any changes
- Click on “Confirm Application” button to make the payment.
- Select the payment mode and click on “Next” button.
- Click on Next button to progress the payment and see the payment detail.
- Click on “Proceed” button to enter the payment detail, system will generate the payment receipt.
- Student will retain the copy of the receipt for the examination fee remitted by them during the examination enrolment process.
Complete Enrollment Request
- In case the enrollment process was not completed in one sitting then user can find the initiated enrollment form under Examination Enrollment Request screen, Search Result.
If user click on “Add Enrollment Request” button after enrollment initiation then the message will be displayed “Your request is in progress, please complete it.” on the top of Enrollment Form. Follow below steps if this message displayed.
- Select the enrollment record and click on “Complete Enrollment Request” button.
- Make sure popup window is enabled.
- Continue completing the form from where it was left.
