CS Executive Exam Pattern : The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is an organisation that has stood out for right regulation and continuous development in the profession of company secretaries in the country.
Exams of CS Executive are conduct by ICSI twice in a year (June & December). A student can sit in exams only after 9 months from the date of admission (excluding the month of admission and the month of examination).
CS Executive New syllabus Exam pattern
Applicability of New Syllabus for the Executive Programme Candidates
1. The first examination of the Executive Programme under the new syllabus shall be held in December, 2018
2. Candidates registered effective from 1st March, 2018 shall be examined under the new syllabus.
3. Candidates registered prior to 1st March, 2018 shall be allowed to appear in the Executive Program Examination under
the old syllabus upto and including December, 2019.
4. Candidates registered prior to 1st March, 2018 will be permitted to appear in the Executive Program Examination under
the new syllabus if they so opt.
5. The last examination of the Executive Programme under the old syllabus shall be held in December, 2019
6. From and including June 2020, Executive Programme Examination shall be held under the new syllabus only.

Keeping aside awarding degrees and membership to candidates, ICSI has always aimed to raise the bar in terms of striking a balance between professional education and expertise. This effort has reached fruition in recent years in the scores of applicants taking up the
CS Executive course. ICSI membership is considered as the standalone benchmark for recruitment in central and state government posts as well for job openings in the corporate world.
ICSI awards degrees and membership to candidates on the basis of performance in the ICSI exam. This exam is conducted in three different stages. The foundation course program constitutes various important subjects that form the base of the profession.
This is followed by the intermediate exam which consists of 12 theoretical subjects arranged into two groups of four papers consisting of 100 marks each. The final exam is the last and most important.
CS Executive Exam 2018 Eligibility:-
A candidate will be admitted to the Executive Programme examination, if —
He/she has registered himself/herself as a student at least nine calendar months prior to the month in which the examination commences. In other words, candidates registered as students upto and including the month of February in a year are eligible to appear in both modules of the Executive Programme examination to be held in December of that year, and those registered between March and August during a year are eligible to appear in both modules of the Executive Programme examination to be held in the month of June next year subject to satisfactory completion of compulsory coaching and computer training.
However, a candidate registered as a student at least six calendar months prior to the month in which the examination commences Dec be allowed to appear in one module of the Executive Programme examination, that is to say, a candidates registered as a student upto and including the month of Dec in a year will be eligible for appearing in any one module in the December examination and the one who is registered upto and including in the month of November in a year will be eligible to appear in any one module of Executive Programme examination to be held in the month of June next year;
He/she has satisfactorily undergone a course of postal or oral tuition for the module(s) to which he/she intends to appear in the examination;
He/she has successfully completed Student Induction Program (SIP).
he/she has successfully completed computer training programme as Dec be specified from time to time by the Council and in the manner so specified or exempted therefrom; and
he/she makes an application in the prescribed Examination Form (through online or offline mode) together with requisite examination fee, which at present is ` 1,200/- per module, so as to reach the Institute on or before 25th March for the June examination and 25th September for December examination (with late fee of ` 250 upto 15 days of expiry of the scheduled last date, i.e., 9th April/10th October respectively).
CS Executive Exam Pattern For December 2018 Exam Session
CS Executive Exam Pattern : The Institute has decided to discontinue OMR Based Examination and instead introduce Computer Based Examination (CBE) for its Executive Programme students from June 2014 onwards. However, examinees would continue to be assessed through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
CS Executive Exam 2018 Pattern:-
The following is the scheme of Computer Based Examination:-
Candidates would be required to sit before a computer terminal and use computer-mouse while attempting the questions. Computer Based Examination would be held in all those cities in India and aboard, where the Institute’s existing examinations are held. Details of examination centres/venues will be informed separately.
Questions would be displayed on the computer screen both in English as well as Hindi language except for Business Management, Ethics and Communication paper, for which questions shall be provided in English medium only.

CS Executive Exam Pattern : CS Executive students are also required to update themselves on all the relevant Notifications, Circulars, Clarifications, etc. issued by the SEBI, RBI & Central Government on or before six months prior to the date of the examination.
ICSI has also released Practice Manual (PM) for CS Executive Programme. The students, who wish to procure printed copies, Dec purchase from sale counters at ICSI Regional offices/ Chapter offices or order it online through e-cart on ICSI website.

Paper-4 (Tax Laws and Practice):
For Direct taxes, Finance Act, 2016 is applicable. Applicable Assessment Year is 2017-18 (Previous Year 2016-17). Since, Wealth Tax Act, 1957 has been abolished w.e.f. 1st April, 2015. The questions from the same will not be asked in examination from December, 2015 session onwards.
For Indirect Taxes, all changes made by the Finance Act, 2016 are also applicable. Students are also required to update themselves on all the relevant Notifications, Circulars, Clarifications, etc. issued by the CBDT, CBEC & Central Government, on or before six months prior to the date of the June 2017 Examination.

CS Executive Exam Pattern : Students wishing to apply for ICSI CS course (Executive) have to register online on www.icsi.edu. ICSI has announced a complete switchover to online registration from January 01, 2014. Aspirants are therefore encouraged to use ICSI online services and register online on www.icsi.edu. 2)Go to the students tab and click on “Student Registration”
3)Go through the checklist of documents as applicable on the basis of qualification.
4)Click on the link “PROCEED TO REGISTRATION”
5)Select the course type as applicable that is FOUNDATION OR EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME etc.
6)Fill in ICSI online application form.
7)Click on the option to make payment of application fee.
8)After making payment of application you will receive ‘Username’ and ‘Student’s Registration number.’
9)Upload scanned copies of documents in support of educational documents.
