The CBSE Class 12 commerce Results are announced every year in May and this forms a basis for students across India to take admission for the UG level of education in universities. The CBSE Class 12 commerce Result forms the foundation of a student’s career as it decides in which university a student would take admission in which is why the CBSE Class 12th Results are very significant. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), being one of the largest educational boards of India, conducts the Class 12th examination every year, for which approximately 10 lakhs students appear annually. For the academic year 2015-2016, the CBSE Class 12 Board results were declared on 21 May, 2016. This year too, the CBSE Class 12 commerce Board results can be expected around the same time. The exams for 2016-2017 session will be held from 9 March to 29 April, 2017 as per the latest CBSE Class 12 Time Table 2017. More than 10 lakhs students registered for the CBSE class 12 Board exams for the session 2015-16. This year, around 10,98,480 candidates from 10677 CBSE affiliated schools will be appearing for their CBSE Class 12 Board exams 2017. Most of the central, state and private universities start their admission process after the declaration of CBSE 12th results.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is most likely to declare the CBSE 12th result 2017 at the end of May. For the year, 2015-2016, around 10,65,179 CBSE students appeared for 12th exam 2016. The overall pass percentage for CBSE 12th exam was 94.30%. It was also reported that while around 93.51% boys passed CBSE 12th exam, the girl’s have again outperformed boys with the pass percentage of 94.05%. Only 52.38% of candidates passed the II Pre-University College (12th) exam in Karnataka, the results of which were declared on Thursday. It is the lowest pass percentage since 2012. The pass percentage was 57.2% last year.

A total of 6,79,061 candidates had appeared for the exams, of whom 5,43,443 were appearing for the first time. Among these, 59.9% passed, while only 22.8% of the 1,05,335 private candidates passed and only 20.14% of the 30,283 persons who were appearing again passed, information of the Department of Pre-University Education revealed.

Girls outclassed boys with 60.28% of them passing compared to 44.74% of boys. However, the pass percentage among both groups was significantly lower than last year, when 64.78% girls and 50.02% boys passed.

Students in urban areas performed slightly better than those from rural areas, with 52.88% of students from urban areas securing pass marks, while 50.72% students from rural areas passed.

Students from the science stream outperformed those of commerce and arts streams. The pass percentage in the science stream was 60.71% while it was 60.09% for the commerce stream and a dismal 35.05% in the arts stream.

There was also a significant difference in pass percentage between those who took the exams in Kannada and those who appeared in the English medium. While the pass percentage in the Kannada-medium was 40.68%, it was 61.41% in the English medium.

Among districts, Udupi topped the charts with a pass percentage of 90.01%, followed by Dakshina Kannada with 89.92%. Bidar finished at the bottom with a pass percentage of just 42.05%.

Business Studies was the subject in which the highest number of students scored centums (2,457), followed by Statistics (2,243), while Hindustani music (two) had the lowest.

The pass percentage in the state for the year 2017 is 52.83, which is 4.37 percent lower than the previous year (57.20).

Tanveer Sait, the Primary and Secondary Education Minister in the SIddaramaiah government, formally announced the news at his office earlier in the day. The girls (60.28 percent) have outshined boys (44.74 percent) again.

Udupi (90.01percentage) has secured the first place followed by Dakshina Kannada (89.92) and Uttara Kannada district. Bidar (42.2 percentage) is in the last place.
