The Literature section was easy. Even the average students found the questions easy to answer.

Writing section consumed the maximum time, as expected, but was not difficult. The topics could be easily tackled. The Time management skills were put to good use in the section.

Comprehension, Section A, was slightly baffling for a few students, but by and large could be comprehended easily.

So we can look forward to an excellent result in the English (Core) paper.

CBSE Class 12 Commerce English Paper Analysis For 2017 Exams

CBSE Class 12 Commerce English Paper Analysis : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted class 12 English exam today, i.e. March 9.

Here’s the detailed analysis provided by Deepa

Section A: Reading Comprehension

  • The first two unseen passages had two to three tricky questions (McQs) which required through reading. The vocabulary questions were quite easy
  • A slight change this year was question ‘g’ in comprehension where students were asked to give their personal opinion which was uncharacteristic of the comprehensive expectations
  • Passage for note making was not as difficult as dreaded as it was based on something that an average student must be aware of i.e pollution.

Section B: Writing Skills

  • Both the options were to write notice which was slightly dispirited as there was a lot that the students anticipated
  • The letter writing was straight to the point and sufficient inputs made the writing task easy
  • The articles were related to the current affairs giving those students an ample chance to score who were well aware of them through newspapers
  • Report writing as such was not a challenging one as a lot of verbal inputs were provided
  • The speech however required proper understanding of the question as rather than writing about sports achievement, it was more focused on women empowerment citing the struggle of women in sports

Section C: Literature

  • Literature was a balanced bouquet of direct and incident questions. Some questions were indeed tricky. There were two hots questions in q.9 i.e 30/40 words questions
  • Question number ten was worth above 90 scorers as it was thought provoking and provided a creative canvas to the students to display their caliber
  • The novel questions were no doubt challenging and it was clear that only who have earnestly read the novel will be rewarded their due.

CBSE Class 12 Commerce English Paper Analysis : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence their Class 12 and 10 exams from March 9. Hardly a week is left for the exams and students must be busy revising the syllabus. English, which is the favourite subject of most of the students is also very scoring, provided you are well versed with the content of the chapters and grammar.

The English exam will carry 100 marks and has to be completed in a duration of three hours. Candidates should therefore now focus on solving the sample papers to get an idea of time management. Grammar is another area where many students score low, due to which the overall marks get affected. But regular revision and reading different books to improve your vocabulary will help you

CBSE Class 12 Commerce English Paper Analysis For 2017 Exams

CBSE Class 12 Commerce English Paper Analysis : The bugbear of board examination becomes a reality around the time of November-December when the syllabus is completed and the pre-boards loom large. Studies then start in earnest for most students and fear becomes a real factor.

For the schools, there are two areas of focus — intensive, individualised test preparation of students and counselling to help students cope with stress, manage their time and studies, and practice test-taking strategies.

Some of the activities that Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, does to help students deal with exam pressure effectively which others too can try are:

  • After completion of syllabus, wrap-up sessions can be held with subject experts (in-house as well as from other schools) to attune students to the board examination environment. Tips should be given by subject experts on how best to master the subject as well as approach and attempt the paper. Information on marking scheme should also be shared
  • Teachers should share ‘model’ answer papers of different subjects with students to show them what their paper should look like and how questions are to be ideally attempted
  • Special classes can be organised both one-on-one and in small groups for the weak students as well as the high achievers; to lift their performance.
  • Individual conference sessions of parents of weak students along with their wards can be arranged with the principal, vice principal and dean-academics to motivate students, help reduce stress at home and counsel both parents and students on exam preparation strategies
  • Besides two pre-boards, short tests should be administered by teachers based on the needs of students. These tests should be preceded by intensive revision sessions to keep students on track and enable gradient learning and preparation
  • Teachers should encourage students to do sample test papers at home which should then be checked and graded by teachers. Following that, each paper should be discussed and feedback should be provided to students individually

Counseling on handling stress and exam fear should be done at different levels. The principal and the school counsellor should address the entire batch on the subject. The school counsellor should also hold private sessions with students if required.
