CA CPT | Foundation New Syllabus for 2018 Exam by ICAI – Download PDF
CA CPT | Foundation New Syllabus for 2018 Exam is available in CAKART Website. In general, ICAI conducts CPT exam twice a year in the months of June and December. But recently The ICAI announced that they will make some changes in CA course from 2016.
ICAI has changed the name of entrance test i;e CPT (common proficiency test) to CA Foundation course. CA Foundation exam will be conducted twice a year in the months of May and November.
CPT new syllabus registration is applicable from June 2017 and it will be applicable for December 2017 and June 2018 exams. ICAI will give some fixed number of attempts to complete CA Foundation | CA CPT in old syllabus for old registration students. There are 4 papers in CA Foundation course from June 2017. ICAI introduced general English and Business and Commercial Knowledge subjects in CA CPT exam new syllabus.

CA CPT new syllabus 2018 ICAI
There are 4 subjects in CA CPT syllabus new by ICAI i;e Fundamentals of Accounting, Mercantile Law, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. There are 2 sessions in CA Foundation | CA CPT exam i;e Session I and Session II. In the session I, Fundamentals of accounting and Mercantile Law for 100 marks and in session II, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude (Maths) For 100 Marks.

CA CPT new syllabus applicable from 2016 exam onwards, applicable for 2018 exams
CA exam to be tweaked to stand the test of time, ICAI may introduce CA CPT new syllabus subjects The country’s toughest examination is about to change with the changing times. After a decade, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) which conducts the CA exam, has approached the ministry of corporate affairs to improve the curriculum, introduce CA CPT new subjects, electives, and open book tests in a few papers.

Revised CA CPT Syllabus Applicable from 1st July 2017 and is applicable for December 2018 exams
ICAI has given a notification about CA New Scheme (CA Course 2017) of Education and Training. ICAI thought that It’s time for changing entire CPT new syllabus pattern. So that they announced new CA Course 2016 – a new scheme. Here we given key features of New CA Course 2017 – a New scheme.
Students who are eligible to register in the CPT/IPCC/Final under the existing scheme may register on or before 30th June 2017. With effect from 1st July 2017, the registration in the CPT/IPCC/Final under the existing scheme will discontinue.

ICAI has given a notification about CA New Scheme (CA Course 2017) of Education and Training. ICAI thought that It’s time for changing entire cpt new syllabus pattern. So that they announced New CA Course 2016 – a New scheme. Here we given key features of New CA Course 2017 – a New scheme.
Students who are eligible to register in the CPT/IPC
C/Final under the existing scheme may register on or before 30th June 2017. With effect from 1st July 2017, the registration in the CPT/IPCC/Final under the existing scheme will discontinue.
CA CPT new syllabus applicability date
It is a known fact that the syllabus of CA Course is being radically changed. We have been receiving numerous requests regarding the applicability of CPT new syllabus.
It is hereby clarified that the new syllabus will likely come into effect only from May/June 2018 exams.
Students registered under existing syllabus will likely be given 2-3 attempts chance to pass the exams, after which the new syllabus will be made applicable.
Students who registered under old syllabus will be given at least three attempts before making the new syllabus applicable to them.
Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS)
- Objective: To sharpen the technical and soft skills of CA students.
- Duration : Three Weeks
- Who shall do: Students registering for the Intermediate course shall be required to do ICITSS before commencing practical training.
- Assessment Test: An assessment test shall be conducted at the end of the course which the students have to qualify.
Highlights of the New Revised CA Course – CA new syllabus applicable from 2016 exam onwards
- The President of ICAI, M.Devaraja Reddy, announced that the new CA Syllabus has been approved by the Corporate Affiars ministry and yet to be approved by the Law Affairs Ministry.
- Once approved, it is likely to be made applicable from November 2017 exams. Existing students under old syllabus will be chance for few attempts before being converted to the new curriculum.
- Under new syllabus, many changes were brought in all three levels i.e., CPT, IPCC and Final.
- CPT will then be for 400 marks, with two theory and two objective type papers.
- CA IPCC will have 8 subjects. Ethics and Communication part will be removed from Law Paper. Financial Management will then be moved to second group carrying 100 marks.
- CA Final will have a new subject named ‘Capital Markets’ in the Second Group, for 50 Marks sharing the paper with ISCA.

1. The Indian Contract Act, 1872: An overview of Sections 1 to 75 covering the general nature of contract, consideration, other essential elements of a valid contract, performance of contract and breach of contract.
2. The Sale of Goods Act, 1930: Formation of the contract of sale, Conditions and Warranties, Transfer of ownership and delivery of goods, Unpaid seller and his rights.
3. The Indian Partnership Act, 1932: General Nature of Partnership, Rights and duties of partners, Registration and dissolution of a firm.
4. The Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008: Introduction- covering nature and scope, Essential features, characteristics of LLP, Incorporation and differences with other forms of organizations.
5. The Companies Act, 2013 [section 1 to 22]: Important definitions, Introduction of company & corporate veil theory, Classes of companies, Conversion of company, Incorporation of company, Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, Alteration of Memorandum and Articles, Doctrine of Indoor Management, Conversion of companies already registered, Promoters, Service of documents.
