What is duration of CA Course?

The duration of CA is depend on student ability to clear the exam. If you are able to clear all papers in first attempt then it can take approx three and half year. CA Course time is depends on student, no matter student do CA Course after 10th, 12th, Bcom, graduation. The duration of the course comes nearing 3.5 years or more depending the concerned persons capability to clear all the examinations of the institute of Chartered Accountants of India in one go . Sometime student may take a investment of 4 to 5 years or even more.

Who is Eligible for CA Course
CA CPT Eligibility
It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course, which is held twice a year in June and December for registered students of Common Proficiency Course (CPC). It is a test of four subjects. This test is for 200 marks and is divided into two sessions of two hours each. CPT is an objective type test with negative marking.
Students who wants to do Chartered accountancy course can register after completing 10th examination. Students can appear in the CPT either on appearing or passing 10+2 examination. If the student wish to go for next step of CA CPT then they need to qualify CPT as well as 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
Direct Entry Route :
Students who are Graduates/ Post Graduates in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks in the examination conducted by any recognised University can register directly to Intermediate (IPC) Course. Go through the CA CPT eligibility criteria for your further doubts.
CA IPCC Eligibility
A student who has passed Foundation Examinations eligible for registration to Intermediate Course. A student
who is Graduate/ Post Graduate in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks
or its equivalent grade in the examination of any recognised University (including open University) can join the Intermediate Course.
- If the candidate has pass the foundation level then he can go for IPCC level
- A candidate who was already registered for erstwhile Intermediate/ Professional Education (Course-II)/
Professional Competence Course/ Integrated Professional Competence Course/ Intermediate
(Integrated Professional Competence) Course cum articleship shall be eligible for enrolment/ conversion
to Intermediate Course subject to complying with relevant conditions.
- A candidate who is persuing
- Students who are Graduates/ Post Graduates in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of
55% of the total marks can register directly in the Intermediate Course.
- Students who are pursuing the Final year Graduation Course can also register for the Intermediate
Course on provisional basis

CA Final Eligibility
Basically , eligibility for CA Final Exam are :
- The candidate must have passed the Intermediate/ PE-II/IPCC Examination.
- CA Final Course registration number must have obtained the candidate .
- The candidate must have completed the practical training as required.
Student can re-registered immediately to training for the excess leave period in his own interest to satisfy himself or herself. They can re-registered as on the date of filling up the examination form or before the beginning of examination (as applicable).
In other words a candidate must have either completed the training or must be in service as on the first day of the month in which the examination is to be held . The balance period of training must not be more than twelve months including excess leave.

CA CPT | Foundation registration procedure
A student should register with the Board of Studies of the concerned Regional office by submitting prescribed filled-in form. The form for registration to the course can also be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.icai.org or can register online by visiting www.icai.org. Student who is making online registration should take a print out of filled-in application form, attach photograph, put signature and submit it to the appropriate office of the ICAI for the purpose of verification of details and maintaining physical record at the Institute’s end.
Validity of CPT registration
The registration for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) is valid for 3 years and if the registration expires candidates need to go for revalidtion. Therefore candidate should do revalidation with a renewal fee of Rs. 300/- or as decided by the Council from time to time. (i) Indian students residing in India and other SAARC countries; and
(ii) students belonging to other SAARC countries

CA Intermediate | CA IPCC registration procedure
Candidates have to register for Intermediate Course under both routes by filling Online Registration form available on ICAI website(www.icai.org) in “Course Registration Forms” under “Students tab”.
Candidates while filling the online form should take care of the following:
After filling the Online Form, pay the required fee online using the payment gateway.
On successful payment, system will automatically generate the Form, which is to be printed.
Candidates through Foundation Route can opt for registration for Group I or Group II or Both Groups of
Intermediate Course while Direct Entry Route candidates have to register for both the groups only. Payment of

CA Final registration procedure and Fees
The CA Final Registration is not automatic and every student who is interested in undergoing this level has to enrol himself for the same. Registration can be applied for by submitting the CA Final Registration Form along with the prescribed fee and the supporting documents.

A Registration Fees of Rs. 10,000 is to be paid along with the Registration Form. However, if the student has not paid the Registration Fees for Articleship, he also has to pay a one-time Articleship Registration Fees of Rs. 2,000 along with the Registration Form.
The Fee shall be payable by pay of a Demand Draft/Pay Order made in favour of “The Secretary, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” payable at New Delhi/Mumbai/Chennai/Kolkatta/Kanpur in accordance with the registered address of the Student.
The Student shall also submit the following documents at the time of submission of the Registration Form:-
- Copy of IPCC Marksheet attested by a Chartered Accountant
- Demand Draft/Pay Order towards CA Final Registration Fee
