What is duration of CA Course after 12th?

The eligibility requirement to become a CA after 12th

Students who wants to do Chartered accountancy course can register after completing 10th examination. Students can appear in the CPT either on appearing or passing 10+2 examination. If the student wish to go for next step of CA CPT then they need to qualify CPT as well as 10+2 or its equivalent examination.

Direct Entry Route :

Students who are Graduates/ Post Graduates in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks in the examination conducted by any recognised University can register directly to Intermediate (IPC) Course. Go through the CA CPT eligibility criteria for your further doubts.

Procedure to become CA after 12th

Step1 : Start CA Course through CPT Route after passing Class 10th

Candidate should register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) after completing the 10th exams and take the exam after completing High School (Grade 12).

CA CPT | Foundation is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course, which is held twice a year in June and December for registered students of Common Proficiency Course (CPC). It is a test of four subjects. This test is for 200 marks and is divided into two sessions of two hours each. CPT is an objective type test with negative marking.

Step2 : Registration for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC)

A student who has passed Foundation Examinations and 12th exams is eligible for registration to Intermediate Course. Registration for the IPCC should be done nine months prior to the first day of the month in which examination is held. IPCC is a 700 marks subjective exam which has 7 subjects and to clear that you have you have to score 40 marks in each and get an over all aggregate of 50% or above.

Group 1 of IPCC Syllabus consists of four subjects while group 2 contains only three subjects.

Step3 : Articleship

After clearing the IPCC exam candidate should apply for the Articleship. Articleship is a 3 year long internship which you have to complete along with the Final CA exam. In this, you have to work under a qualified CA for 3 years.

Step4 : Registration for CA Final Course:

The candidate can appear for the CA final examination during the last 6 months of 3 years of articled training. Enrol as a member of ICAI and designate as “Chartered Accountant”.
