  • Unit one Business.
  • Unit two  Management.
  • Unit three  Planning.
  • Unit four Organising.

BCOM first semester Subjects – Complete details

BCOM frist sem subjects have six with detail syllabus information. B.com first semester have two language subjects in that English compulsory and kannada, hindhi, urdu student can select any one subjects. Two optional  subjects are their but student can select any one subject. Four common BCOM related subjects are their. those are;

A) Financial Accounting ( Three hours teaching classes ) :

  • Unit one Introduction about  financial accounting.
  • Unit two Capital and revenue items, Reserves and Provisions, Depreciation:
  • Unit three Final Accounts with adjustments.
  • Unit four Accounting for non-profit organisation.

Reference book: Gupta R.L. and Radha Swami M. “Financial Accounting” and Monga J.R , Ahuja Girish and Sehgal Ashok  “Financial Accounting”.

Important: The Examiner will set at least THREE numerical and THREE theoretical questions in the question paper.

B) Business Mathematics( Three hours teaching classes ) :

  • Unit one Indices and Logarithms; Theory of Sets.
  • Unit two Elementary idea of Permutations and Combinations.
  • Unit three Sequence and Series, A.P, G.P.
  • Unit four  Data interpretation.

Reference book: Allen B.G.D Basic and Mathematics a Volra. N. D. Quantitative Techniques in Management.

Important: The Examiner will set at least THREE numerical and THREE theoretical questions in the question paper. .

C) Business Economics ( Three hours teaching classes ) :

  • Unit one Basic problem of an economy.
  • Unit two Production Function Theory of consumer behaviour.
  • Unit three utility and indifference curve analysis.
  • Unit four Market, classification and structure.

Reference book : R.K Lekhi, Business Economics, Kalyani Published book and  V.G.Mankar, Business Economics, Himalaya Publishing book.

Importance : The examiner will set two questions from each unit out of which the candidate shall attempt four questions selecting one question from each unit. All the questions shall carry 16 marks each.

D) Business Management ( Three hours teaching classes ) : 

  • Unit one Business.
  • Unit two  Management.
  • Unit three  Planning.
  • Unit four Organising.

Reference book : Druker. Peter F. Management and Weihrich and Koontz, O. Donnel:  Essential of Management.

Importance : The examiner will set two questions from each unit out of which the candidate shall attempt four questions selecting one question from each unit.

E)  optional subjects(  Student can be select any one this following subjects) 

  • Business Communication ( Three hours teaching classes ) :

(a) Unint one Basics of communication.

(b) Business Communication at workplace.

(c) Business Communication at workplace.

(d) Communication Skills.

Important : The examiner will set two questions from each unit out of which the candidate shall attempt four questions selecting one question from each unit.

  • Basics of computers first one ( Three hours teaching classes ) :

(a) Introduction to Computers

(b)Input Devices:

(c)Memory and Mass Storage Devices:

(d) MS- Word.

Reference book : Computer Fundamentals-Nasib Singh Gill.

Important: The examiner will set two questions from each unit out of which the candidate shall attempt four questions selecting one question from each unit.
