ACCA Internship Programme: BACKGROUND

For five years running, the ACCA Singapore Internship Programme has successfully matched hundreds of students to our Approved Employers, providing students with opportunities to:

  • Gain valuable exposure and relevant work experience
  • Put what they have learnt into practice and come to a better understanding of actual working environments
  • Meet performance objectives that count towards Practical Experience Requirements (PER) to become ACCA members.

Last year, amongst the hundreds of entries received last year, 33 interns emerge successfully and were given the opportunity to work in companies including Capitaland, Capitaland China, EY, Deloitte, Intertrust, Mazars, Pfizer, UOB, Westcon, BDO etc. We are proud to share that many of them were also offered either an extension or a full time contract right after the Internship.

This year, the 2016/2017 internship programme will be administered by ACCA Singapore and supported by its network of ACCA Approved Employers (Gold and Platinum Approved), ACCA Approved Learning Partners as well as the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) via the Joint Pathway Programme.

Internships will last for a minimum period of 3 months, from December ’16/ January ‘17 to March/ April ‘17.

Registrations open from Friday, 1 July 2016 and will close Sunday, 31 July 2016.  Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a panel interview (by ACCA Singapore) in August.

All candidates are required to undergo a rigorous selection process by both ACCA Singapore and potential employers in order to qualify (the final round of interviews with employers is scheduled to take place from late September to October).

Thanks to this internship, I was offered a full-time position to start in June 2016, even before I had attained my full ACCA qualification. The flexibility of the programme allows me to start work immediately.

—Phyu Mya Pwint,ACCA Intern 2015/2016

ACCA Internship Programme: WHO CAN APPLY?

The ACCA Internship Programme is open to all ACCA students studying in Singapore.  To be eligible, students must have completed the Fundamentals Level F1-F4 exams (or equivalent).

Note:  International students (on Student Pass) holding other qualifications (e.g., Masters and Degree) are invited to submit their applications.  The qualifications should preferably be Ministry of Manpower (MOM) recognised awards, so as to meet the requirements for the Training Employment Pass (TEP) or Work Holiday Pass (WHP).  International students MUST ALSO NOT have applied previously for a work pass in Singapore.

This internship experience will open doors to future employment oportunities. It had provided me with a strong foundation and is a valuable milestone for my future career in accounting.
