Definition of "Reexamination"

This is the most essential step in performing analysis. From this step, the auditor has the requisite data to make a judgment and formulate an opinion. The two factors under consideration are a standard (for comparison to the facts) and the facts (to compare to the standard). Step one reviews the standard, the facts, and whether a discrepancy actually exists between the two.
